About Us – Boro African Shop

Welcome to Boro African Shop, where every piece tells a story — a story from the heart of Africa.

My name is Francis, and I started this shop with one mission: to share the soul of Africa with the world. For over 10 years, I’ve been selling hand-carved curios, art, and gifts made by skilled local artists. These aren’t factory-made. These are real — shaped by hand, with tradition, patience, and pride.

I grew up around these crafts. As a child, I watched carvers turn plain ebony wood into animals that looked alive. I saw how tourists smiled when they held something real — not a souvenir, but a piece of culture. I knew then: this is what I was meant to do.

Running a small business isn’t easy. There are days when sales are low, or when I’m surrounded by big wholesalers selling cheap copies. But I’ve stayed true to the authentic African feel — handmade, meaningful, and made to last.

What makes us different?

  • We only sell authentic, handmade African items.

  • We work directly with local artists, not factories.

  • Every item has a story, and we’re here to share it with you.

When you buy from Boro African Shop, you’re not just buying a carving or magnet. You’re supporting real people, helping African traditions stay alive, and taking home something crafted with care.

I believe in the beauty of Africa. And now, I want to bring that beauty to you — wherever you are in the world.

Thank you for being part of this journey.

Francis, Founder of Boro African Shop
